Our Story

CCR Rehab was founded in 2012 by a group of addiction medicine physicians and recovering professionals who recognized that Napa Valley — long celebrated for its natural beauty — could also become a place of profound personal renewal. They envisioned a treatment center where clinical excellence met genuine human warmth, where every patient would be treated with the dignity and individualized attention they deserved.

What began as a 20-bed residential program has grown into a 61-bed, full-continuum facility staffed by 122 clinicians, counselors, and support professionals. Over the past 14 years, more than 6,800 individuals have walked through our doors and found a pathway out of addiction. Our growth has been driven not by expansion for its own sake, but by the increasing demand from families across Northern California who trust us with their loved ones' recovery.

Today, CCR Rehab stands as one of Napa County's most respected addiction treatment providers, blending the tranquility of wine country with rigorous, outcomes-driven clinical programming.

Treatment Philosophy

At CCR Rehab, we understand that addiction is a complex medical condition — not a moral failing. Our treatment philosophy is rooted in three core principles: individualized care planning, integrated mental health support, and long-term recovery sustainability. We combine cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed approaches, and medication-assisted treatment into cohesive plans tailored to each client's unique history and goals.

Our Team

Dr. Karen Whitfield, MD

Medical Director

Board-certified in addiction medicine and internal medicine, Dr. Whitfield has led CCR Rehab's clinical operations since 2014. She oversees all detox protocols and medication-assisted treatment programs, bringing 20 years of experience in substance use disorder care.

Robert Castillo, LMFT

Clinical Director

A licensed marriage and family therapist specializing in trauma-informed addiction counseling, Robert directs our therapeutic programming and supervises our team of 18 licensed therapists. He holds advanced certifications in EMDR and dialectical behavior therapy.

Dr. Priya Mehta, PsyD

Director of Dual Diagnosis Services

Dr. Mehta leads our integrated mental health and addiction treatment track. With expertise in co-occurring anxiety, depression, and PTSD alongside substance use disorders, she ensures that every client receives comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and ongoing care.

Angela Torres, RN, BSN

Director of Nursing

Angela manages our round-the-clock nursing staff and oversees patient safety throughout the detox and residential phases. Her background in emergency medicine and addiction nursing ensures the highest standard of medical care on our campus.
